Home Energy Audit in Utah

Winter is the perfect time for doing Infrared Residential and Business Energy Audits. The first step for reducing your energy costs. Before you consider the Cash for Caulkers program you should look into having a calibrated blower door test performed on your home or business. We now have the large blower doors by Tempest and are capable of doing large homes, businesses, commercial building and municipal buildings with square footage in excess of 50,000 sq ft.

This is the perfect way to cut and lower your energy costs this winter.

Starting an energy Audit Company in Utah

Like everyone heading North to Alaska years ago seeking the fortune in the gold mines. Everyone is jumping on the green - energy audit bandwagon. As an old timer at this, sometimes I find my self shaking my head at everyone buying cheap infrared cameras, going to those one week energy audit schools and buying small 6,000 cfm blower doors. They come back home, hang out the OPEN sign and wait for the business to hit. They wait and wait. Without doing their Due Diligence and market research into their new venture. We sure are seeing a lot of this equipment ending up on eBay - as like new, barely used. The business is out there, but is like that big trout lurking under your boat - don't give up it will come to you. The single biggest problem is that you are way, way ahead of the power curve. The consumer awareness hasn't even begun yet. Consumers are smart people - they never try something, much less look into it - if they've never heard of it. No one was interested in gas mileage and fuel efficient cars until the price of gas went sky high. Be patient.

Utah Infrared Thermal Imaging

Another week of Utah Infrared Home Energy Audits is complete. This week we discovered some unique things in some new homes in South Jordan and Herriman. Missing insulation! With infrared thermal imaging equipment we can see behind sheetrock, we can see the wall studs, drywall screws and of course infrared thermal imaging allows us to locate roof trusses. We found two homes in South Jordan where the blown in celulose attic insulation was missing completely in 3 rooms. We put them in touch with Utah Attic Insulation - namely Chris James 801-589-5100. The homes in Herriman were missing on the north side (cold side). We highly recommend having a home energy assessment on your Utah residence. The cost of an infrared home energy audit is about the same as the cost of an infrared home inspection.

We are Utah's only 5 star infrared thermal imaging business dealing exclusively with homes and businesses.

Only a Utah super home inspector can deliver a super home inspection.

Orvis Catalog - Golden Retrievers in Riverton, Utah

I opened up the latest Orvis Catalog for Dogs and our twin goldens are still gracing the inside cover. My wife tells them all the time they are famous!
Take a minute and look at the great photos of doggies from all over America

Government Grant Money

Doing inspections and energy audits for the government has it's ups and downs. The money is good, but it takes forever to get paid. The best part is looking over all the government grants - where our money is getting spent. Some are real stupid like flea research on Utah prairie dogs. Here is the worst of the waste.
$1.8 Million to monitor the presidential and regional elections in the country of Djibouti. Where the hell is Djibouti? And who cares when we have 15 million Americans out of work.
