Starting an energy Audit Company in Utah

Like everyone heading North to Alaska years ago seeking the fortune in the gold mines. Everyone is jumping on the green - energy audit bandwagon. As an old timer at this, sometimes I find my self shaking my head at everyone buying cheap infrared cameras, going to those one week energy audit schools and buying small 6,000 cfm blower doors. They come back home, hang out the OPEN sign and wait for the business to hit. They wait and wait. Without doing their Due Diligence and market research into their new venture. We sure are seeing a lot of this equipment ending up on eBay - as like new, barely used. The business is out there, but is like that big trout lurking under your boat - don't give up it will come to you. The single biggest problem is that you are way, way ahead of the power curve. The consumer awareness hasn't even begun yet. Consumers are smart people - they never try something, much less look into it - if they've never heard of it. No one was interested in gas mileage and fuel efficient cars until the price of gas went sky high. Be patient.
